Cloe Velarde is a director, cinematographer, and photographer based in Costa Rica. Born in Lima, Peru and raised on Costa Rica’s North Pacific Coast, her work is shaped by a strong connection to place, nature, and the cultures she grew up between.

Cloe works across documentary, narrative, and commercial projects, with a particular interest in human stories, female perspectives, identity, and cultural narratives. Her work spans digital and Super 8 formats, including underwater cinematography and photography.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Television with an emphasis in Direction of Photography and is a 2025 Sundance Ignite Fellow.
